Dirt Cheap Copies — Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all orders and services provided by Dirt Cheap Copies (“we,” “us,” “our”), whether placed in person, by phone, by email, by text message, or through dirtcheapcopies.com. By placing an order or using our services, you (“you,” “the customer”) agree to these terms.

1. Orders and Proofs

  • An order is final once we print it. You may cancel or change your order at any time before printing begins.
  • If we provide a proof, it is your responsibility to review it carefully for spelling, content, layout, and accuracy. Your approval of a proof authorizes us to print exactly what was approved.
  • Colors shown on screens and on proofs may differ slightly from the finished printed product. Minor variations in color, trim, and paper stock are normal and are not considered printing errors.
  • Design, layout, or file-preparation work completed before a cancellation may be billed for the time spent.

2. Cancellations and Refunds

  • You may cancel any time before your order is printed, at no charge (except as noted above for design work).
  • Once printed, orders are not refundable if you change your mind.
  • Special orders are not refundable, in full or in part. Special orders include items we order from outside vendors or produce specifically for you outside our normal in-house printing.

3. Reprints

  • Our error: If we are at fault — for example, a printing defect or misreading your order — we will reprint the order at no charge.
  • Customer error: If you find a typo or other error that you made in an order printed in-house, we will reprint it at 50% of the original price. This does not apply to content changes you decide to make after printing (for example, deciding to add or change information on a flyer); those are new orders at full price.
  • Errors discovered after printing and after an approved proof may not qualify for the “customer error” reprint discount; this is completely at the discretion of Dirt Cheap Copies LLC staff.
  • Reprint requests must be made within 7 (seven) days of pickup or delivery, and we may ask you to return or show us the printed items.
  • Reprints are our sole remedy for printing errors; we do not issue cash refunds in place of a reprint.

4. Turnaround Times and Deadlines

  • We work hard to meet reasonable deadlines. Turnaround times we give are good-faith estimates, not guarantees.
  • We normally process jobs in the order received (first in, first out).
  • If you need your job completed ahead of jobs already in our queue, a “Jump the Queue” fee may apply. Availability depends on our current workload.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by late or incomplete files, delayed proof approvals, equipment failure, supplier delays, weather, power outages, or other circumstances beyond our control.

5. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are subject to change without notice. Written quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Payment is due at pickup unless you have approved account terms with us. We may require a deposit or full payment in advance for large or special orders.
  • We accept cash, checks, and major credit and debit cards. Cash totals may be rounded down to the nearest $0.05 if you don’t have pennies.
  • Returned checks are subject to a $30 fee.
  • Orders are not released until paid in full, unless you have approved account terms.

6. Your Files and Content

  • You are responsible for the content, spelling, accuracy, and quality of any files or materials you provide. Low-resolution images or improperly formatted files may not print as expected.
  • Our requested submission format is “PDF”. We cannot guarantee that document files (e.g. .doc or .docx) will print correctly. All modern programs include a “Save As” or “Export to PDF” function, and we strongly suggest you do that to avoid incurring unwanted costs.
  • We do not guarantee long-term storage of your files or originals. Please keep your own copies.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any job we consider unlawful, obscene, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.

7. Copyrighted Materials

  • We cannot print copyrighted materials — including books, photographs, artwork, logos, and other images — without written permission from the copyright holder.
  • We may ask you to provide that written permission before printing. We may refuse any job we believe infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark.
  • By placing an order, you confirm that you own or have the right to use all content you submit.

8. Hold Harmless and Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless and indemnify Dirt Cheap Copies, its owners, and its employees from any claims, damages, legal fees, or other costs arising from copyright or trademark infringement, misrepresentation, or any other content you provide or ask us to print.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, missed events, or deadlines.

10. Unclaimed Orders

Completed orders not picked up within [60] days after we notify you may be discarded or recycled. You remain responsible for payment of any completed order, whether or not it is picked up.

11. SMS / Text Messaging Terms

Program description: By voluntarily providing your mobile phone number and explicitly opting in to SMS, you consent to receive SMS messages from Dirt Cheap Copies related to your orders, including order status updates, notices when your order is ready for pickup, proof and approval requests, and replies to messages you send us. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

How you opt in: You may opt in by agreeing at our counter, by selecting text messaging as your preferred contact method when placing an order, or by texting us first. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Message and data rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies. You will typically receive 1–5 messages per order.

Opting out: You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message, and we will stop sending SMS messages to your number.

Carrier disclaimer: Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy: Your phone number will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at https://dirtcheapcopies.com/our-privacy-policy. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties except as required by law. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

12. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy at https://dirtcheapcopies.com/our-privacy-policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version posted on our website is the current version and applies to orders placed after its effective date.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of LANE County, Oregon.
